An unsuspecting Patricia McMahon caught trying to get out the door after a meeting with Cove Arts producer Joshua Israelsohn who was fooling around with a camera instead of being serious. |
With a twinkle in her eye, and just a touch of mischief in her heart, storyteller Patricia McMahon delights audiences of all ages with tales of resourceful heroines, uncommon souls, wise fools, and everyday magics. She brings original and traditional tales to life with participation, laughter, and a great deal of fun. Patricia told her first story at an all-night story swap (a sort of literary pajama party) in June of 1985, and was immediately captivated (and captivating!). |
| Since then, she has performed at festivals, coffeehouses, libraries, schools and churches
throughout New England, including the New England Folk Festival, Three Apples Storytelling Festival, A Day for Sam
Storytelling Festival, Cambridge's Famous Club Passim, Boston Children's Hospital, and many, many others.
In addition to Storytelling, Patricia's talents have been focused on performing Gilbert & Sullivan operettas with the Sudbury Savoyards, and Sacred Harp music with Norumbega Harmony for whom she serves as Vice President in Charge of Bedtime Stories. Her parents never forced her to eat her vegetables. |
